Arborphone Radio
The Arborphone 37-AC cabinet appears to be almost the same cabinet used on the Arborphone 25. The cabinet for the 37 has a number of ventilation holes in the rear where the 25 does not. The RF circuitry is shared with the Arborphone 55. The power and AF section of the 37 and the 55 are different. The 37 and the 55 both use the same tube lineup and as a matter of fact so does the Arborphone 45. One has to wonder why the company manufactured three radios at about the same time that essentially competed against each other. Recently I saw an interior photo of a Sonora console. This radio looked to have the same RF module that is used by the 37 and 55.
The photos and text from an article published in April 1928 Radio Broadcast magazine describe the Arborphone 37-AC.  Click on each image to the left to read this article.
