Arborphone Radio
Arborphone Radio
One historical reference to an Arborphone 35 that I have found is an advertisement from the May 1928 Radio Broadcast magazine.

The ad boasts of the Loftin-White circuit and at first I assumed it would be the same circuit used in the Arborphone 37-AC and 55. However those two radios use an 8 tube circuit while this ad claims a 7 tube circuit for the 35 model. The ad also states that the 35 model is available in a variety of cabinet and console styles. Other than the early Arborphone, the front panel dimensions are the same throughout the Arborphone product line, at least on the subset of Arborphone radios that I have collected.
A second reference I found is in the September 1931 Radio Index magazine. This publication boasts that it doubles your radio pleasure. In an article called “Plain Advice for the Troubled” someone wrote in asking where he could find a schematic for his Arborphone 35.

A third reference to the Arborphone 35 is the Dec-Jan 1927 Issue of Radio Age magazine. This ad includes two console models, a 352 and 353 along with the table top version. The cabinets for the two consoles appear to be the same as the models 252 and 253 respectively. A copy of the ad is shown to the left.
