There was an Arborphone factory sponsored baseball team that played a game against a Pinckney team July 7th, 1929 as reported by the Pinckney Dispatch. The images shown here are from the July 3rd edition. The text includes some trash talk by the Arborphone team manager for the upcoming game the following week.
Interesting how the Arborphone team got a home run in the 5th inning. The ball landed in an alfalfa pile and the centerfielder could not find the ball. I believe that should have been ruled a "ground rule double", however this rule did not exist until 1930, a year after this game was played.
